Our premium-quality SMS Surgical Gowns (Spunbond Meltblown Spunbond) are used by hospitals, medical facilities, engineering, medicinal uses, etc. Moderate water resistance (resistant to water spray and some resistance to water penetration).

AAMI Level 3 Surgical gowns are used for Moderate risk situations; for example during arterial blood draw, inserting an intravenous (IV) line, in the emergency room, or for trauma cases.

Material Descriptions

Our disposable surgical gowns are constructed with SMS Material. SMS Surgical Gowns offer a balanced mix of protection and comfort. Disposable medical gowns are a perfect choice when it comes to providing protection against low risk situations. SMS Gowns are strong and breathable.

SMS stands for Spunbond/Meltblown/Spunbond. SMS is a multi-layer fabric composed of inner layers of melt blown polypropylene between outer layers of spunbond polypropylene that is ideal for extended wear. Light/medium weight SMS is appropriate for low amounts of fluid and heavyweight SMS may be appropriate for moderate contacts with fluid.

AAMI Level 3 Surgical Gown Critical Zones

We have the right surgical gown for the right procedure. AAMI standards call for a surgical gown to meet the requirements for AATCC 42 and AATCC 127 in the critical zones in order to be labeled as an AAMI level 3 surgical gown.

As pictured in the image, there are four different areas that must pass within the critical zones. Including front chest, sleeve seam, sleeves and front belt. If a product passes AATCC 42 and AATCC 127 in all applicable areas, then it qualifies as an AAMI Level 3 Surgical Gown.
