CovCare Spotlight: Montefiore Medical Center In The Bronx

Three months ago when news of the Coronavirus pandemic began to make headlines around the world, Montefiore Medical Center in the Bronx was one of the first hospitals to get in touch with CovCare and share their experience about being extremely limited with PPE products. CovCare returned the favor by delivering 190 boxes with 40,000 facemasks to help protect frontline healthcare workers.

Throughout the Coronavirus pandemic, CovCare has been truly privileged to work alongside a number of hospitals, care centers, colleges and universities, organizations, and companies big and small to either donate or provide Personal Protective Equipment (PPE) for purchase in hopes of protecting healthcare professionals, essential workers, and everyday citizens alike as the world health emergency rages on. 

It’s a goal CovCare remains committed to just as it has since back in early March when Wooter Apparel and GameBreaker united to launch the medical supplies and logistics company. 

Since then, CovCare has grown in scope and scale thanks to its extensive PPE product line while continuing to make a lasting impact across the United States and by keeping a focus particularly on those fighting against COVID-19 from coast to coast. That’s why CovCare is using this time to shine a spotlight on the valued clients they’ve teamed-up with. 

This week CovCare would like to recognize the tremendous work being done by staff members at Montefiore Medical Center in the Bronx, New York during the Coronavirus pandemic.

Founded in 1884 by Jewish philanthropists Moses Montefiore as a care facility for patients with chronic illnesses, Montefiore Medical Center has become one of the largest healthcare systems in the nation and remains at the forefront of scientific breakthroughs, diagnostics and treatments, educating the next generation of healthcare professionals, and confirming their compassionate commitment to the community with nationally-renowned expertise. Building upon its 125-year history, Montefiore Health Systems (MHS) consists of ten hospitals with a primary and specialty care network of more than 200 locations across Westchester County, the lower Hudson Valley and the Bronx, complete with an extended care facility, and including the Montefiore School of Nursing, and the Albert Einstein College of Medicine.

CovCare took heed and jumped at the opportunity to deliver 190 boxes with 40,000 masks to Montefiore Medical Center in the Bronx. Since then, CovCare has watched in awe as the caring health workers at Montefiore Medical Center in the Bronx have earned glowing headlines of their own right after being featured on CBS News and playing  "Empire State of Mind" by Alicia Keys over the PA system anytime a COVID-19 patient had overcome the odds and were discharged from the hospital. 

CovCare may have been the medical supplies company to help outfit doctors, nurses, and workers with protective facemasks in their desperate time of need, but it was these brave heroes at Montefiore Medical Center in the Bronx that truly deserve the praise in the end.
